   Introduction of P.M Secretariat

 

Office of the chief Executive/Prime minister, Azad Govt of the state of Jammu & Kashmir was created first time in the year 1974 under the provision of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir interim Constitution Act, 1974.Name & duration of Ex. Prime Minister & sitting Prime Minister are as follows:-

At present the Prime minister’s Secretariat has seven section/wings, functioning under the supervision of secretary to the Prime minister. These wings/sections are:-

  • Administration
  • Appeals
  • Implementation & Monitoring
  • Political wing
  • Press & Publication
  • Hospitality
 
 

The Prime minister’s Secretariat is supreme office of the state. From where the public expects lot to do for their welfare. Therefore, all files relating to policy decisions, execution of major projects, law & order situation, posting/transfer of higher bureaucracy are submitted to the Prime minister by all departments.

   
 

Main functions of the Prime minister have been laid down in the Rules of Business 1985 which are

  • Be the head of the cabinet
  • Be responsible for co-ordination of all policy matters
  • Perform other functions assigned under the interim Constitution & the rules of Business.
  • Have the power to call for any case or information from any office, attached department or departments.
